Today was a heavy wound treatment day, started with a c.diff patient, and ended with something sticky/wet getting on my scrubs at the end of my day.
I love being a nurse!
It’s an under appreciated and under paying profession but grateful nonetheless to be living out the career I worked so hard for. There’s no greater blessing than a dying patient telling you the day before they choose to induce their death that they were blessed to have you as their nurse at the end of their life, patients kissing your hand and telling you how much they love you before they become nonverbal and families expressing their gratitude for the love you’ve showed them and their dying daughters, sons, sisters, brothers, moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas. Nursing is truly a work of heart

Hoy fue un día de tratamiento de heridas pesadas, comenzó con una c. paciente diferente, y terminé con algo pegajoso/húmedo subiendo a mis batas al final de mi día.

Es una profesión poco apreciada y poco pagada, pero agradecida de estar viviendo la carrera por la que he trabajado tan duro. No hay mayor bendición que un paciente moribundo diciéndole el día antes de que eligen inducir su muerte que fueron bendecidos de tenerte como su enfermera al final de su vida, pacientes besando tu mano y diciéndote cuánto te aman antes de que se conviertan no verbal y familias expresando su gratitud por el amor que les habéis mostrado a ellos y a sus hijas moribundas, hijos, hermanas, hermanos, mamás, papás, abuelas y abuelos. La enfermería es verdaderamente una obra de corazón
