A map showing the youngest legal marriage age in each U.S. state.
The standard marriage age is 18 across most of the country, but state laws can allow younger people to marry under specific exceptions. These may include parental consent, approval from a judge, or legal emancipation. The ages shown on this map represent the youngest possible age under those rules, not the age at which someone can marry independently.
Sixteen states currently require both people to be at least 18, with no exceptions. Delaware became the first state to adopt this rule in 2018, and several others have followed as laws surrounding marriage involving minors have become stricter.
Other states set their lowest permitted age at 15, 16, or 17. California, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Oklahoma currently have no fixed minimum written into state law. This does not mean a child can automatically marry, since parental permission, court approval, and other legal conditions may still apply. It means there is no absolute age below which marriage is always prohibited.
Oklahoma has already passed a law raising its minimum marriage age to 18 with no exceptions. However, it does not take effect until November 1, 2026, so Oklahoma is correctly shown under “no statutory minimum” for now. Once the law takes effect, it will become the 17th state to completely prohibit marriage before 18.
These laws are changing quickly as more states move toward 18 with no exceptions. For now, however, the legal minimum still depends heavily on where someone lives and which exceptions the state allows.
Republican Rep. Mary Miller introduced a bill to ban strippers from performing in schools. When asked how often that’s happened, she couldn’t name a single case, because it hasn’t happened, not once, anywhere.
That bill moved through the House this spring. Meanwhile, AI generated child SA material, built from real children’s photos, sometimes photos their own parents innocently posted, has exploded over 1,300% in a single year. The bill that would close the legal loophole letting some of that go unprosecuted passed the Senate unanimously in December and is still sitting in the House.
This is the party that says it protects children. Ask them why the fake crisis got a vote and the real one didn’t.

BREAKING![]()
In 2020, a trans sex worker picked up a call from a blocked number and heard a voice tell her to WATCH HER BACK if she went forward with her story about Lindsey Graham.
Taylor Snider had been a sex worker for nearly seven years when she flew into Washington for the first time in June 2015. She says she posted an ad, and at 8:48 the next morning a stranger texted asking about her earliest opening. They settled on 1:30 that afternoon at the Hilton near Dupont Circle. In the screenshots, the man asks whether she is more of a top or a bottom, then adds, “I am a bottom.”
He stayed about half an hour and paid $400 in cash, she says. On his way out she made small talk, asked what he had going on. “Nothing. I’m just going right back to work.”
She had no idea who he was. About a week later she was eating dinner in a divey New York restaurant when his face came up on CNN. Her friend asked if she was sure. “Yeah, that’s my client.”
In June 2020, after adult performer Sean Harding tweeted about an unnamed homophobic Republican senator hiring sex workers, Snider dug out the old text thread and her ad and worked with a publicist who talked about starting the bidding at $50,000. Then, waiting at an airport gate for a flight to Seattle, she answered a restricted number. The voice said, “If you move forward with your story, watch your back.” She landed, went straight to her room, pulled her ads down and stayed locked in for three days. The story never ran.
Graham died July 11 at 71. He voted for a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, fought the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” backed bathroom bans and restrictions on gender-affirming care, and championed FOSTA/SESTA, the law advocates say made sex workers far more vulnerable to violence.
“I’m not gaining anything by this,” Snider says. “I’m just trying to point out the hypocrisies that are actively in our world right now.”
Four of Graham’s former aides were asked where he was on June 7, 2015. None responded.
