:joy:

Thalía will take her banda on tour, but not to Europe yet

It seems that Thalía is determined to appear at one of the huge grupera dances somewhere in Mexico, and she has chosen Los Tigres del Norte, the most popular group in this genre, as her vehicle.

Arturo Rivera of Hit Popular, the top Grupera/Banda magazine, reported today on the latest cover of their publication, which features Thalía posing with the Tigres at a press conference. It seems that for all practical purposes, Thalía crashed the photo shoot for the Tigres and put herself right in the middle of things. The managers of both parties had just reached an agreement for them to appear together, and Thalía must have wanted the word to get out as soon as possible. Although many fans will not be able to see this performance, because these dances are not televised, it is very good news for the purists because there will be no lip-synching at a live dance and Thalía will have to sing her own parts and perhaps even bring her own band to back her up.

Tigres del Norte characterize themselves as the “Norteño” style, and they are considered the top in their field. Since Thalía is also the top in her field of pop music, they are naturally wanting to explore the possibilities. Stories have come out that the Tigres were ultimately disappointed in Thalía’s banda album, because she did not do anything original or new and just added different musical instruments to the background. However, we fans here expect the results to be spectacular, maybe incorporating some of Thalía’s ideas which had gone to waste with the cancellation of the Latin Grammy Awards ceremony.

(Note: The Tigres del Norte are extremely well known in Mexico, but although they work their butts off and travel constantly for their concert/dances, the money they make is very little compared to soloists such as Thalía. “El Norte” is what the Mexican workers call the US, north of the Mexican border. But Norteño as a definition means simply the lifestyle and music of the ranches in the northern part of Mexico. It is not the same as “Ranchero”, which is the style that Thalía sang for “Amor Eterno”. Remember that “Banda” rules in Sinaloa, a state bordering the Sea of Cortez on the east, opposite Baja California. We invite our native Mexican readers to take over and explain what any of this has to do with “Grupera” music; all the news sources seem to be using grupera as a blanket term for regional music and that is misleading. If you feel confused, don’t feel bad because the breakdown in Mexican regional styles IS very confusing and there is a lot of mix-and-match.)

Fue una conferencia de prensa para anunciar una gira con los tigres del norte?

Thalia estaba bien descuidada en esa época, en vez de lanzar un reloaded de arrasando con nuevas canciones en inglés y bonus track en español:triumph::exploding_head:
